New Trailer For Vulgaria

Vulgaria
Special Review For Movie Vulgaria
True to its title, this energetic Hong Kong comedy trades primarily in off-color gags, yet its tone, like that of John Waters's films, is so playful and inclusive that it's unlikely to offend anyone.
Ben Sachs-Chicago Reader

"Vulgaria" is certainly crude, but most of its amusing vulgarity is discreetly held off screen.
Jeff Shannon-Seattle Times

A broad, cartoonish -- and decidedly filthy -- satire of moviemaking is as sophomoric as they come.
Michael O'Sullivan-Washington Post

The film boasts the spontaneity of a French New Wave romp, while including raunchy gags worthy of The Hangover and Clerks II.
Mark Jenkins-NPR

The film's kinky energy eventually wanes, the pileup of profanities losing its initial zing.
Jeannette Catsoulis-New York Times

Either the golden height of human imaginative endeavor or as profane and crazy as a meth-addicted stripper.
Chris Packham-Village Voice

A transparent, bait-and-switch disappointment strictly for suckers.
Kam Williams-myfilmblog

A producer goes to bizarre lengths to complete a soft-core film in this coarse, exuberant Hong Kong comedy.
Daniel Eagan-Film Journal International

It fails to produce any humor - or even any skin.
Brett Michel-Boston Phoenix

Pang Ho-cheung can't help but humanize Vulgaria's characters, which is a kiss of death for what's meant to be a farce of escalating obscenity.
Chuck Bowen-Slant Magazine

Vulgaria is being marketed as a "dirty" movie, but that's underselling the film's real strengths.
Rob Hunter-Film School Rejects

While the film has no problem sticking its hand down its own pants, the end result is a total mess.
