Movie Title : The Flat Release Date : Oct 19, 2012 Limited Mpaa Rating : Unrated Genre :Documentary,Art House & International,Special InterestAt age 98, director Goldfinger's grandmother passed away, leaving him the task of clearing out the Tel Aviv flat that she and her husband shared for decades since immigrating from Nazi Germany in the 1930s. Sifting through a dense mountain of photos, letters, files, and objects, Goldfinger begins to uncover clues that seem to point to a greater mystery and soon a complicated family history unfolds before his camera. What starts to take shape reflects nothing less than the troubled and taboo story of three generations of Germans - both Jewish and non-Jewish - trying to piece together the puzzle of their lives in the aftermath of the terrible events of World War II. -- (C) IFC If You Like this movie you can streaming The Flat movie without downloading HERE

Movie Overview For The Flat
The flat on the third floor of a Bauhaus building in Tel Aviv was where my grandparents lived since they immigrated to Palestine in the 1930's. Were it not for the view from the windows, one might have thought that the flat was in Berlin. When my grandmother passed away at the age of 98 we were called to the flat to clear out what was left. Objects, pictures, letters and documents awaited us, revealing traces of a troubled and unknown past. The film begins with the emptying out of a flat and develops into a riveting adventure, involving unexpected national interests, a friendship that crosses enemy lines, and deeply repressed family emotions. And even reveals some secrets that should have probably remained untold...

Special Review For Movie The Sorcerer and the White Snake
These showdowns feature spectacular, Lord of the Rings-style CGI settings, but not much in the way of thrills or terror. Mark Jenkins-NPR
The clunky action mostly revolves around uninspired wire-fu choreography: Monks fly around while flailing their arms as hordes of CGI creatures gather around and then do nothing. Simon Abrams-Village Voice
A silly, derivative supernatural-action extravaganza that would have been better at a fraction of its f/x budget. Justin Chang-Variety
Fantastic visuals and non-stop action make for a spectacular, romantic Chinese CGI feast. Deborah Young-Hollywood Reporter
The Sorcerer and the White Snake is unfortunately just another average Jet Li film to throw into the pile. Its bloated and overloaded use of mediocre special effects practically shackles the film to its humdrum atmosphere. Chris Sawin-Examiner.com
A masterpiece of imagination. Offers wall-to-wall goofy fun for fans of martial arts flicks, fantasies, or just good old-fashioned cinematic nuttiness. Mike McGranaghan-Aisle Seat
This hyperactive assault on the senses from Hong Kong is noteworthy only for its dazzling array of computer-generated special effects. Todd Jorgenson-Cinemalogue.com
We've seen this movie before, in better clothes and with a much higher IQ. Rob Vaux-Mania.com
The film looks so glossy, plasticized, and unreal that all you end up thinking about is special effects. Kenji Fujishima-Slant Magazine
An amusing Chinese martial arts reminder that not all cheese comes from Switzerland, or Wisconsin. Roger Moore-Movie Nation
It's a sometimes charming film from the veteran action filmmaker, but remains a curiosity, lacking comic sharpness and romantic intensity. Jason Di Rosso-MovieTime, ABC Radio National
There's hardly any love affair left really because the CGI has taken over with a vengeance. I got a bit bored by this, because it's just special effects, just CGI all the way through and the story is just shunted aside. David Stratton-At the Movies (Australia)
The director has pulled out all stops to impress, perhaps a bit too excessively, so that the fragile emotions of this love affair are undermined. Margaret Pomeranz-At the Movies (Australia)
Though The Sorcerer and the White Snake is excessive and at times jumbled, younger viewers will surely respond to the colourful characters and settings, and the bold vision on display is charming... for the most part. Michael Simms-FILMINK (Australia)
With the mushometer maxed out, and a score that starts on overdrive and heads for overbearing, this ridiculously melodramatic tale of forbidden love tries to bury its narrative flaws with a colourful coating of CGI - but ends up a shiny glutinous mess. Simon Weaving-Screenwize
